Thanks for those suggestions, yeah I do plan to try some restaurants outside Times Square, I just thought it would be good to have a few in mind for if we pop back to the hotel and are too hungry to travel too far to a restaurant after our hard day shopping and sightseeing!

Thanks

Cheap Chinese = Ollie%26#39;s

My teens loved Serendipity,(not close) and Joe Allen. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance for a late dinner at Joe Allen and my girls were thrilled to see some celebs (Christian Slater, %26amp; cop from NYPD Blues).

Great resource for restaurants is www.opentable.com. YOu can search by location, cuisine and price range, and there are links to restaurant websites so you can really get a good picture of a place that is new to you. PLUS, you can make reservations. Check it out. Indespensable, and one of the most comprehensive lists of places in the city. And it is ALWAYS up to date. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to keep up with restaurant closings- some place that has been around for a long time can close and if you are not here in the City, and aware, you might plan on something that has shuttered its doors.

Holmes: As much as my teen loves shopping, she also loves eatting in NYC. Here are her favorites. Some are inexpensive, some reasonable and some expensive.

Ellen%26#39;s Stardust Diner (51st and Broadway): Good diner food with singing waiters in a 1950s Soda shop atmosphere. (reasonably priced)

Seredipity 3: East 60th: The food is o.k. but the desserts are delicious. (reasonably priced)

John%26#39;s Pizza: 44th between 7th and 8th: Around the corner from your hotel. Delicious pizza restaurant housed in an old church. My kids love this and so does my wallet!

Bond 45: 45th between Broadway and Ave. of the Americas. Upscale, but not too expensive, delicious Italian.

China Grill: In the CBS Building. Upscale neuvo Chinese food served family style in a chic restaurant. Very New York for the teens!

Brooklyn Diner: Diner food that is DELICIOUS! 57th Ave near Carnegie Hall. (reasonably priced)

Red Eye Grill and Trattoria Dell%26#39; Arte: Both owned by the same folks who own Brooklyn Diner. More upscale and expensive than Brooklyn Diner and just as delicious. On 7th across from Carnegie Hall.

Osteria Del Circo: Upscale restaurant with a mature circus theme. Italian food and the nicest owners in the World! They make you feel very special and LOVE to see families dining together.

Food Court at Grand Central Station: Good food of many ethnicities and, what can I say, it is Grand Central Station!

Loeb Boathouse restaurant. Have lunch and enjoy the view of the beautiful lake. It will probably be too cold to rent a row boat, but if it isn%26#39;t don%26#39;t miss one of the best rides and bargains in New York.

Metropolitan Musuem Cafeteria: yes, I said cafeteria. Many great food choices that are properly prepared and delicious. Lots of fun after a visit to the Egyptian Exhibit at the Met. (a teen favorite!)

Eleven Madison Park: On Madison Park. Very upscale and worth it. They treat your children like royalty and you too! The food is spectacular and the setting beautiful; it is a refurbished bank.

Tribeca Grill: Near Ground Zero and Century 21. Upscale bar/restaurant owned in part by Robert DiNero. I love their scallops and so does my daughter.

Saks Fifth Avenue restaurant: After shopping, again for make-up, Saks does a ladies lunch beautifully. Great Chicken salad.

Little Italy: Casa Bella and Il Palazzo are our favorites. Good, honest Southern Italian Cuisine.

I could go on, but these are the restaurants that come to mind that make my teen happy! Enjoy! Moms

You have to go to Virgil%26#39;s BBQ and Serendipity. No trip is complete without them!

Both are reasonably priced and have good menus. Virgil%26#39;s is right in Time Square. Serendipity is a short cab or nice walk away.

Thanks for all those suggestions people, at least now we%26#39;ll know some decent places to eat in that my girls will enjoy, you are all so helpful.

Thanks again.

I tried to fine Loeb Boathouse restaurant. Could you have spelled it wrong. Sounds very good. Can you help with more information??

They don%26#39;t use the ';Loeb'; just The Boathouse. Here%26#39;s a link:
