Hi! I need your help!
I am going to NY on thursday and hope to buy a sony vaio laptop, in the States it runs on :
AC: 100-240 VAC
Consumption: 105 Watts
Will I be able to get a converter in the UK?Or can you buy also in NY
Also want to buy aCANON digital camera and a mobile printer. Should I be ok for getting converters for these too?
Many thanks for your help!

I%26#39;ve found that with 100-240 the only thing needed is a plug adapter to allow the 2 pin to run with a 3 pin and vice versa. My husband just bought a Canon body in NY and all that%26#39;s needed for the battery charger is the adaptor. My laptop works just as well in the US as it does here in the UK with the adaptor

Thanks for your advice Daisygee!
just a reminder, sparklingsea: our keyboards are not set up exactly like yours... e.g., no symbol for your monetary pound. Whether that%26#39;s an easy fix for you is beyond my rudimentary computer key :-)
umm, that should have been ';computer ken';
There are two issues here;
A) you need an adaptor to physically plug the thing in
and
B) The operating voltage must be compatible
SO in order for your UK applaince to work you MUST have an adaptor to plug it in AND it must specify on its data badge that it will work on 110v. Now some appliances auto sense and auto switch to work on 110v, others have a\ physical switch which you must set to 110v.
If you have an appliance which says it only works on 240v you will be able to plug it in using an adaptor but dont expct it to work becuase chances are it wont. Your Vaio sounds ok as it appears to be dual voltage. Have a nice trip!!
