Sorry to say $200 doesn%26#39;t buy much these days, esp. on such short notice. ;( Best suggettion is if there are just 2 of you and it%26#39;s a shortish trip, try bidding on Priceline. Bid only 4 star hotels and you could luck out paying less than $200/night. If you%26#39;re not familiar with it, read biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com Make sure you understand the concept of a free re-bid BEFORE you try this.
Otherwise, you can check travelzoo.com for specials but I don%26#39;t think there are many right now.

And to make it worse, October is usually the busiest month of the year, and this october is especially busy.

have you tried the chelsea savoy? we stayed there once and were very surprised with how nice it was %26amp; it was right around $200
