i will be arriving in new york on new years eve for our honeymoon,will be staying for seven days,just wondered what some people have spent,that have stayed for same amount of time,would just like a rough idea?thank you for any help.

I hate to say what we spent in the week we were there recently! A lot depends on how you want to spend your money. Do you plan to splurge on dinner every night, eat budget meals, or somewhere in between? Are you planning to charge most of what you buy? Without knowing that, perhaps you could start out planning on $100/day.

We took 拢600 worth of dollars and that lasted us 7 days (excluding clothing purchases which we visa%26#39;d)

Hot sausage, we are just back after three weeks of our freelance trip round the eastern USA which included 5 nights in NYC. As our local expert pointed out, budgeting $100 a day should be about right. For example,dinner for two would be about 拢50 UK. Something you really MUST try is the lunchtime New York Deli experience. This was all new to us but basically, the NY deli is a shop that sells everything you might need in a hurry ,eg basic foods/drinks/medcines etc but also does great food either eat in or take away on an informal setting. It is nothing like your typical cafe in the UK in that the food is of a high standard/tasty/plentifull and inexpensive. After a lunchtime deli meal,you may well find that you dont really need to eat much in the evening ! The first visit will be an educatio n as the choice is limitless, i.e what sort of bread,what sort of cheese what this what that etc etc,,you can imagine,,but once you get the hang of it, its great. If in doubt ,just plead ignorance and ask whats available,,we found that the people were really helpfull and friendly .
