We are traveling to New York over thanksgiving weekend and are looking for ideas of things to do when it is so crowded. We have never visited new york and are thinking about staying in Times Square. Would like to see a play, comedy show and of course hit some great LOCAL restaurants. What recommendations do you have? I know this is very broad, but don%26#39;t know where to start! Any advice I would really appreciate! And...we love to shop!! Thanks!!

Am I right in presuming you do not have a hotel room booked yet?
That would be my first suggestion, do that. As far as comedy clubs there are many, same with shows. Do you want a musical, or a play, Off-Broadway? So many restaurants, any particular type of food? How long will you be here?
Shopping in NYC is no problem, there are stores whevever you do.

Regarding restaurants: there are tens of thousands here, so as NYCgirl said, we need more info from you! Thansk for your interest in local haunts! What are your food tastes, preferences, dislikes, and budget? How many people? Ages?
Do you have a guide book yet?
We do not have a hotel booked yet and realize we need to do that soon! We want to stay in times square. 2 girls ages 25-35. We are interested in seeing 1 play while we are there (any recommendations?), hit a comedy club and are into shopping and eating. We are not picky eaters, so would like to try some local cusine. We would rather not hit the touristy restaurants and large chain stores for shopping. Maybe we are looking for off the beaten path ideas? Thank you for any advise! Are we nutz for going that holiday weekend???
