I am visiting new york this year and want to be there for both the thanksgiving parade and the light switch on at rocafella centre etc, can anyone tell me what dates these are on, as i am having difficulty finding this info on line.

According to the Rockefeller Center web site, the tree lighting will be on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 29th; yep, our Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 23rd.
Check quikbook.com (reservations agency) and some mega-search engines for travel such as sidestep and kayak.com for hotel availability/rates -- I%26#39;m hoping budget is not a matter of grave concern to you, that%26#39;s an expensive week to be here :-/
