Yankee Stadium - Tickets, Seats - arrival

Hello,

Iam from germany, its my first visit at yankee stadium. On 13. or 14. sept. we visit the match with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Whats the recommend seats for an german, who have never been in yankee stadium and will get his first baseball game.

Iam not familar with baseball in USA. For soccer in germany i would recommend a foreigner to take place in a neutrally block, because he dont get involved into clashes between hooligan groups. Is there any hooligan scene in us baseball, especially by new york yankees?

I saw tickets available for bleachers block at 12$ and Main Box for 55$. What is a good choice?

Whats your expectation about spectator count for a weekday evening. Will the match be sold out?

Which ist the best way to yankee stadium. I will stay in secaucus New Jersey. The way from secaucus to the yankee stadium should not be the problem, because i use the subway to yankee stadum. But the way back to secaucus in the night. I prefer public transport by subway or bus.

Yankee Stadium - Tickets, Seats - arrival

Tampa Bay does not have a good team so neither game is likely to be sold out. If the game on the 14th is a daytime game consider going to that game since the crowd may be smaller and public transportation is more frequent during the day.

You don%26#39;t have to worry about ';hooligans'; at the game. The fans who sit in the bleachers (called bleacher bums by the fans) are true baseball fans and seating there can be a fun experience. Bleacher seats are the furthest from the action, grandstand seats are closer to the action.

To get to Yqnkee Stadium from Seacaucus take a NJ Transit bus to the Port Authority (42nd St. and 8th Avenue). Enter the subway and take an ';A:'; train UPTOWN to the 59th Street station (Columbus Circle). Transfer to a ';D'; train going UPTOWN to the stadium getting off at the 161st. station. . Once on the ';D'; train the trip will take about 20 minutes. Go back the same way.

Yankee Stadium - Tickets, Seats - arrival

HI rqf,

I think its a night game, it starts at 7.05 pm.

Should I expect problems by my way back from Yankee stadium to Port Authority late at night. I expect the end of the match at 11 pm.

There should be any connection with ';D'; train at the 161st.

Is the ';D'; train known as an unsafe at night?

Thanks tsv1860munich

The game will be over closer to 10 PM. When the game ends many in the crowd will be heading for the train. There is an elevated train that stops at the Stadium. It is the #4 but that goes to the east side. You go down stairs to get the D train. The entrance to the station is under the elevated train tracks. The D train will be very crowded and safety is not an issue. You take the D train to 59th St where you transfer to an A train or a C train to take you to 42nd St. and the Port Authority. Check the bus schedule to Seacaucus. Buses do not run as frequently late night.

One word of advice. If you are not sure you are on the right train going in the right direction ASK someone for directions. Enjoy your visit and the game.

.

rqf thanks for so much information.

What do you think about the time we need to get from the yankee stadium to Port Authority.

From Port Authority i could reach jersey city and would took a taxi to secaucus.

thanks tsv1860munich

Bleacher seats are the way to go. The crowd is very entertaining, perhaps a little obnoxious, but entertaining nonetheless. Save your money for something else. Americans love baseball, but we%26#39;re nowhere near as fanatic as you Europeans are with Soccer. Its a safe bet that a riot won%26#39;t break out. Especially since the home team will no doubt demoralize the visitors on the field.

Hi,

now we have found a decision about type of tickets. We will invest in Main Box tickets.

I tried to buy tickets by ticketmaster.com. Unfortunately there is no way for a non US customer to buy tickets for an event that schedules within 10 days. Do anyone know a way to purchase tickets by internet. Is there a good chance to buy tickets on 12. Sept. on a ticket counter in new york for a match at 13. Sept or 14. Sept.? Someone expect that the game would probably not sold out. Could I catch tickets at the stadium on the day of the event?

thanks tsv1860munich

Yes, a game versus the Devil Rays, you should have no problem buying tickets the day of the game.

If you%26#39;re arriving a day or two prior to the game, buy tickets at the Yankees Clubhouse stores...there%26#39;s one near the Empire State Building, and one in Times Square....check yankees.com for info.

You will have no problems, as previously stated, with hooligans, nor will you have problems on the subway to the Stadium or back.

Have fun!

1- the game will be sold out.

2- Buy the best seat that you can afford

3- Public Transportation is safe and comfortable

On the internet you can find NEW YORK PORT OF AUTHORITY maps and information.

4-Give yourself two hours.

5-Check out ';STUBHUB.COM'; on the internet. They have tickets at all prices. .

6- And be SURE TO TOUR MONUMENT PARK AT YANKEE STADIUM. There are no HOOLIGANS in baseball.

7- ENJOY!

FYI - its called a game, or a ballgame, not a match. Enjoy.

Hi and thanks for our help. I was at yankee stadium on 17. Sept vs. Boston Red Sox. To got tickets were easy at the yankee shop near time square. There were enough tickets availabe for reasonable price of 22 USD for two tickets! Transportation from an to the stadium was also easy and fast with the D train to 59 street. The secaucus bus connection is enough on sundays.

thanks tsv1860munich
