Location/ January in NYC

Please offer your perspective on these locations to stay for a January visit to your incredible city. Upper East side - East 70%26#39;s,doorman building with an elevator........Chelsea- West 16 Strreet between 5th and 6th Avenues, 1840%26#39;s townhouse. I understand these are very different locations, just want the slant of one who knows and loves ( or not ) these neighborhoods. We are definitely seeking a fresh base from which to explore. I relish the feedback I get on the forum.

Location/ January in NYC

We are sisters celebrating one of our sixtieth birthdays. I am actually 51 while the oldest of us is 64. We try to have an anuual reunion in some desirable locale. We look forward to strolling through a snowy Central Park on a gorgeous afternoon and returning to the Met and possibly visiting the MOMA for the first time. Of course we will see something off or on Broadway, eat delicious food, rummage through the Village, possibly venture to Harlem on Sunday for some gospel music, and enjoy good coffee and wine. Our tastes are pretty eclectic - not anticipating spending much time in Time Square, except to go to the Theater District. We love walking, so being on the move is part of our plan.
