Family accommodation in New York City?

Hello from Australia! We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers 16 and 14) looking for convenient accommodation in NYC. So far we have found The Larchmont and Chelsea Lodge but I am worried they might be a little too small for a family....but the price seems good and we can cope if it really is suitable. There is also The Milburn Hotel but it seems a little pricey. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. We are staying there at the end of January for 3 nights only. Thanks in advance!

Hi Kiboom

You don%26#39;t say what rates you are being quoted so it%26#39;s hard to comment on if the price is good or not.

But, I will say what I always say to a travelling family, have you considered an apartment hotel? Much more space, kitchen facilities and available for short stays. Rates can be very competative over a hotel room only.

The most popular (so possibly fully booked) and regularly recommended here are

www.radiocityapartments.com

www.affinia.com (various around Manhattan)

www.apartments2book.com (offer several of the above at good rates)

and the Best Western Hospitality House. A search will bring up the link.

The Larchmont rooms are very small. My husband and I were just there for a week and I would recommend it if you were to get two rooms and at that price you may be able to find something with 2 double beds in one room. And the bathrooms are down the hall, we had no problem with that, but teenagers may not like that set up. The bathrooms were very small also, but always available and very clean.

I would say our room was 12x12 or smaller.

I know you can get a queen bed (not sure if that means the room is bigger) maybe that would do for you.
