Well, you could stay in a castle in Tarrytown in Westchester County--within an hour from Manhattan. It%26#39;s ';Castle on Hudson'; (www.castleonthehudson.com). I have not yet stayed there, but will do so next wk. Certainly sounds romantic! Be sure to read the reviews on it.

I agree. It used to be the Tarrytown Castle. Now it%26#39;s the Castle on the Hudson. It%26#39;s beautiful and romantic. We were there many yrs ago. Breakfast was so so. Had dinner at the Ruth Christ Steak House nearby.

The other option that I recommend is Minnewaska Lodge in New Paltz. It%26#39;s a small hotel located near beautiful Lake Minnewaska State Park. Another place to consider is the Mohonk Mountain House which is a historic landmark hotel in New Paltz which is set in a beautiful nature preserve with a mountain lake and hiking trials. We%26#39;ve never stayed at the Mohonk Mountain House but I think their rate include meals.
