Hope someone can help - 6 of us will be in NY over the Marathon weekend (not good planning we know!).
We are looking to eat out on our last night (Monday) and would like to eat somewhere special. Friends have recommended the Tavern on the Green but I fancy the River Cafe.
If we book the River Cafe we are thinking that we could cross the Brooklyn Bridge as well.
Any comments, ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

River Cafe or Tavern on the Green?Tavern on the Green is the subject of endless debate. MOST feel the food is mediocre at best and the service appalling. (Do a text search here) Go to River Cafe if you can get a reservation.

Tavern on the Green has the look but not much else.
Ditto on TOG-it is really awful in terms of food and the service is terrible. It%26#39;s a pretty place to have a drink and that%26#39;s it. The River Cafe on the other hand,is a bit of a tourist trap but very nice,good food and outstanding service.
Tavern on the Green is more of a tourist trap because it%26#39;s not as expensive as River Cafe. I vote for River Cafe, hands down. That is, if you can get a reservation.
