Yet another Itinery for you to look over....sorry folks!!

Hi there

Could you all look at my itinery and let me know whether it%26#39;s feasible, please? I%26#39;m really struggling now and getting into a bit of a panic!! :-(

We (me, partner and 13 yr old son) arrive at JFK at approx 12.45pm on Wed 18th Oct. We%26#39;ll go in a taxi to the Hotel (Hotel Super 8, on W46th St/between 5th %26amp; 6th Aves). I%26#39;m guessing we won%26#39;t arrive there till at least 4pm ish...what do you think?

Anyway...that day, we%26#39;ll get our bearings, so I was thinking of seeing:-

Chrysler Building

Grand Central Station (maybe have cheesecake at Juniors)

Madison Square Garden

Empire State Building (at dusk, if poss)...what time is ';dusk';?

Times Square at night

Is that enough/too much for our first half day?

Thurs 19th Oct

Ground Zero/St Pauls

Shopping at Century 21 (maybe)

Go to Brooklyn, eat at Grimaldi%26#39;s, walk back over the bridge to Manhattan

Visit ';The Cage'; basketball thingy in Greenwich Village

Maybe a Harbour Lights Night Cruise

Fri 20th Oct

Thinking we might stay ';local'; to our hotel this day, as we have to be in New Jersey for a basketball game that evening.

TOTR (morning)

St Patricks Cathedral

Broadway (just to look, not see a show)

Carnegie Hall (as above!)

Shopping

New Jersey Nets - 7.30pm start

I don%26#39;t have tickets for the basketball yet, as I%26#39;ve been told they won%26#39;t sell out, and to just turn up on the day and buy tickets...I%26#39;m told I need to get a bus from Port Authority Terminal. Can anyone tell me how often they run/which number to get/how long it takes to get there?

Sat 21st Oct

SOL

Ellis Island (not sure if we will do the Staten Island Ferry or actually go on a boat that will take us to the Statue/Ellis island and we can get off and have a proper look. Any ideas?

Possibly look around SoHo, Nolita, etc

Sun 22nd Oct

Helicopter ride around SOL, etc..(either the 12 or 17 min one, not decided yet)

Central Park

Shopping!

Mon 23rd Oct

Not sure what to do this morning. Our flight back to the UK is at 6.15pm...what time will we have to leave Manhattan? Any suggestions for the time left on this day would be great, but it might just mean more shopping!!

So there it is!! I haven%26#39;t a clue how long we will need for each of the things we want to do/how to get there, etc, so any help would be fantastic. We like to do lots of walking though - but not if time is of the essence.

Other things we%26#39;d like to see if we have time are:-

MoMA

LES Tenement Museum

Guggenheim Museum (just see it, not go in)

Can we fit these in anywhere? Any advice on good/reasonably priced eating places would be appreciated as well.

Looking forward to hearing any feedback you are willing to give :-)

Yet another Itinery for you to look over....sorry folks!!

While I%26#39;d guess you%26#39;ll get to the city before 4pm, remember you%26#39;ll still be on UK time and it%26#39;s 5 hrs. later. Don%26#39;t try to run yourselves ragged when you first arrive. YOu%26#39;ve WAAAY overscheduled your arrival day. The hotel is near both Times Square and Rockefeller Center. I%26#39;d check in, have a walk over to Rockefeller Center. Have a look at the skaters (yes!) and maybe go up to Top of the Rock at dusk/sunset. Then walk west to Times Square. Have a look around, maybe grab some pizza and go to bed!

You%26#39;ll likely be up very early on Thurs. If you want to head downtown first thing, do it.

You can do some if not all of the things you had on your list for your arrival day on Fri. (ESB, Chyrsler, MSG etc.) since they%26#39;re not that far but just far enough to be not a good idea for day 1.

Sorry I didn%26#39;t look at the whole itin. but just skimmed. Some of the helicopter rides go from near the South STreet Seaport. If you do that, you can do the Tenement museum as it%26#39;s not far. But you really do need a reservation. There%26#39;s also a TKTS booth across from the Seaport, so if you wanted to try to get tickets for a show for the night, you could get it down there. (You need cash) Maybe Blue Man Group or Drumstruck. Your 13 yr old would like those. They%26#39;re off Broadway and not so pricey. ;)
