time out new york?

What sort of information does this publication have, local events and things to do, right? Would you consider it a ';must buy'; upon arrival? Where can I pick up a copy? Are they only sold on certain days, or can I pick one up anytime? How much is a copy?

I%26#39;m interested in holiday events and I%26#39;m hoping that this publication has a concise list...please let me know if I can go elsewhere for this type of information. We will be arriving on Nov 28 and leave that Saturday.

Thanks!

I would say thast yes it is a must have, especially considering the cost (I think it%26#39;s either $2.95 or $3.95 an issue, I have a subscription and don%26#39;t have a copy handy to see the newsstand price). I receive mine on Wednesday in the mail and it covers events Thursday to the following Wednesday. It breaks out events by around town (sort of anything that doesn%26#39;t fit into other categories), books, clubs, comedy, theater, etc.

You can get it at any newsstand, a bookstore, basically any place that sells papers and magazines.

NY Magazine also does a holiday guide that accessible online. Here%26#39;s the link from last year. I%26#39;m giving you the link for lights, but there are links for other things like music, Xmas markets etc. at the bottom of the page.

A lot of the information TONY offers can be accessed for free via their web site also...http://www.timeoutny.com/newyork/

Thank you so much for your responses. I%26#39;ll definitely be checking those links out.

You need to be a mag subscriber to get to a lot of the details on the TONY website, but there%26#39;s still a lot to find.

New weekly issues every Wednesday.

They even have a Time Out New York Kids magazine and website. TONY kids website is completely accessible to all.

Have fun!
