I%26#39;d like to find a place to buy used cookbooks, mostly of the veggie/health type, I%26#39;m also looking for a place to buy a good sports bra at a discounted price as well as one of those gadgets that measures your heartrate, calories burned while running, etc.

When I lived in the States Ross Dress for Less was my favorite place for clothes ( I don%26#39;t have much use for fancy designer stuff other than jeans) are there similar stores in the city?

For the cookbooks, I%26#39;d start at the Strand bookstore which is HUGE and carries both new and used books. You can look at their website and see what they have.

If that doesn%26#39;t do it for you, try some of the thrift shops. Housing Works is a chain of thrift shops that has books at most of their locations.

For a sports bra and discount clothes, I%26#39;d try some of the discount places like Loehmann%26#39;s, Daffy%26#39;s, Syms.

For a heart monitor, I don%26#39;t know about a discount, but Paragon Sports is a good place.
