June 24 2007 - Gay Pride procession

I%26#39;ll be arriving at JFK on this Sunday and just discovered it%26#39;ll be the Gay Pride procession. I%26#39;m staying at the hotel Thirty Thirty in Manhattan. Not sure of the procession route, will this seriously affect travel time by cab from JFK? Any thoughts?

Traffic will be tied up in Manhattan but your cab wouldn%26#39;t actually have to cross the parade route. Since the cab fare is fixed FROM JFK to Manhattan, even if traffic is terrible, it won%26#39;t cost you more (than time). If you%26#39;re impatient and don%26#39;t want to deal with traffic tie ups, you could take the AirTrain to the E train subway. Get out of the E train on 51 st %26amp; Lexington and then transfer to the 6 train to 33 st. and walk a few blocks.

Have you stayed at the Thirty Thirty before? I stayed there last year and it was great and they did not bat an eyelid when I came in at 5.30am carrying my shoes from partying! Although be warned I put the do not disturb on my door but it did not stop the maids from hoovering outside of the door and banging it with their machines at 9am!!!!!

Thanks nywhiz I was hoping I wasn%26#39;t going to have to cross the parade route. Treeoak - no I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Thirty Thirty, but my sis has, she liked it too. Don%26#39;t think the maid hoovering will be a problem for me, I%26#39;m not planning on creeping home at 5 30am lol.
