Where do I begin!!
I booked an apartment with this lot a full month before my trip to New York. They debited the deposit from my credit card, sent me a booking confirmation agreement and assured me that a ';Welcome Pack'; e-mail would soon be sent with the apartment details, address, etc.
About a fornight before my trip I began to be concerned that none of this stuff had arrived. Thus began a string of phone calls. The stock response was usually along the lines of, ';Sorry, so-and-so is out of the office today, I%26#39;ll have him call you back.';
No-one ever called back, but I kept calling them, and on the occasions when I did get speaking to the people who were ';handling'; (I use the term loosely) my booking they would assure me, very plausibly, that all was well and I was making a fuss over nothing.
Eventually, three days before I was due to arrive they decided to tell me that there was in fact no apartment for me!! Imagine the stress...three days notice!!!
If you do use them and experience some concerns with regards your booking, don%26#39;t believe for a moment that there is any escalation or resolution process. Whether you call their UK, USA, Europe or Republic of Ireland line, all routes lead back to the same few idiots in the same call centre, who tell you that somebody in reservations will call you back as they%26#39;re in a mythical meeting. Don%26#39;t hold your breath for that call...I tried for a fortnight and nearly ended up in hospital!!!!
Don't use UrbanStay.comSo sorry you had this horrible experience. It%26#39;s unbelievable to me this lot has been scamming tourists for ';oinks'; under various names. They used to be called yourstay.com. It was so bad there was a website notyourstay.com that described many instances like you describe. There%26#39;s got to be something that can be done to put these people out of business and in jail!!!
Don't use UrbanStay.comsomebody should call channel ';7 on your Side';
I too am sorry about your experience. Goes to show how useful resources like TA can be. Just post a message saying has anyone heard of (______).
You could try to report them to the BBC.

Hi
That is awful thanks for letting others know of your experience so they can avoid such a horrible experience - please let us know if you found some other place to stay how was it and were you able to enjoy your trip
Sorry to hear about that!
Did you manage to get somewhere to stay on short notice? How much of a premium did it cost you?
On another point, I see you are from Belfast - did you fly Continental? If so, any comments - I fly out on 5th October.
Thanks for the heads up on this shoddy outfit. You don%26#39;t say whether you ended up having a good trip after all your stress. I certainly hope so.
P.S. Did o.madison go with you?
Got that one Nic ;)
RNnyusa, I also thought about contacting one of the TV watchdogs but I think the problem is this co. is not American.
Well done, whiz!
I%26#39;m sure one of the British TV travel programmes would be interested in this story. Isn%26#39;t there one on on a Saturday or Sunday morning?
Nightmare ! I booked with them a couple of months back and I%26#39;m due to arrive in NY next Tuesday (9/20) and guess what I%26#39;m getting the runaround big time ! I%26#39;ve been chasing them all week and still no confirmation of where about my apartment is,etc. Now I read this post and am deeply concerned...........will keep you posted how things progress.Now I have to tell my other half :(
