Where: Julius on W 10ths St at Wavery Place (the onldest bar in the West Village and former speakeasy)

It was great to finally put screen names with real names and faces. The beer/wine was flowing as well as the burgers/chips/onion rings. Unfortunately I had to leave by 9pm in order to get up for work this morning, but many of our out of town guests were still drinking when I left. I am extremely impressed that katang and gang were still out when I left - they had only arrived in the city that afternoon!!! MMM510 arrange a history lesson on the West Village from her friend which was very interesting. Many people were taking pictures were taken - hopefully some will be posted in trip reviews later

I forgot to mention - some of us are getting together in Brooklyn Heights on Saturday at 5 for fish %26amp; chips at the Atlantic Chip Shop, in case anyone is interested and yes - beer will be served. I guess that is an uncommon phenom in Belfast according to Katang although I can%26#39;t imagine fish %26amp; chips without a pint!

I am sure you will have a good turn out, as you have mentioned alcohol ..lol

Thanks for the posting Wendi - I was soo glad to finally meet you after chatting on line for so long. The whole evemomg really did turn out to be a fun time for all concerned.

I met up with Lig1006 (Mr. %26amp; Mrs) and DaisyG (Mr. %26amp; Mrs.) a little before the get together and we took a wander through some of the streets of the West Village. We got to Julius about 5:30 and claimed tables in the back room. We were all quite happy to just sit for a bit - they%26#39;d done quite a lot of walking all day. We ordered some beers and then other folks started to drop in and our group just kept growing . We ended up taking up so much room, one gentleman moved from his table along with his drink %26amp; burger, three times to continue to give our growing group more room and more tables and chairs.

I too left about 8:30 ... I%26#39;m just not as capable of staying up as late as I used to be ... however all else were still going strong. And I must say the Katang%26#39;s have serious stamina! Amazing. Just off the plane from Belfast, out to pick up some tea, have a cup and then off to join us in the West Village!

And a big thanks to the staff of bartenders and cooks at Julius. They made things easy and comfy for us, and did a great job on serving the food and drinks as well as Tom for his history of the building and tales of the West Village.

It%26#39;s not easy to find a place where a whole bunch of folks can get together in a drop by fashion over a period of several hours. This worked out just fine.

I%26#39;ll be at the Atlantic Chip Shop on Saturday as well ... they%26#39;ve got great fish and chips as well as really yummy Shepherd%26#39;s pie and (so I%26#39;ve been told) good beer and I can attest to really great cider! See you there Wendi

Although I did not partake of food %26amp; drink I stopped off after the end of the holiday to say hello to everyone. It was nice putting the face to the name.

Very interesting bar, to say the least.
