I%26#39;d like to surprise my mom with a weekend in NYC to see ';Wicked'; sometime in December or January. Does anyone know a good website or place to call to put together a package? As a former NYC resident I%26#39;d prefer to stay away from midtown if possible (I know the UWS and Greenwich Village). Any suggestions?

I used New York City Vacation Packages a few years ago for a theater trip and was very happy with the company, nycvp.com. Now I enjoy putting my trips together myself, but if you want someone else to handle the details: hotel, tickets, etc., this company is reputable. Check out their website and have a great trip!

I think you might do better pricewise putting it together yourself. Don%26#39;t know if you want to include any other shows besides Wicked and/or airfare.
I%26#39;ve noticed the Beacon Hotel (UWS, good but nothing fancy) has a theater ticket option. The Park South Hotel (east 20s) used to do it too. Not sure if they still do.

They%26#39;re a broker that isn%26#39;t too pricey. Someone else on the forum followed that reco and got Wicked for $30 above face value but the price included a dinner at one of several restaurants. ;)
The only proper hotel (not a b %26amp; b, inn or shared baths) is the Washington Square, just off the park.
There are huge bargains to be had in Jan. if you can wait. First week of Jan. is often a good time. Decorations still up, streets quiet, theaters less busy. ;)
