NY Eve Fireworks - Battery Park or Central Park?

We would like to know which set of fireworks are better? Are there more places to watch the Battery Park Fireworks? Are they actually at Battery Park or can they be seen from anywhere around the southern end of Manhattan? Or from Brooklyn Bridge?

Are these the only fireworks on New Year%26#39;s Eve?

I don%26#39;t know anything about fireworks at the Battery. I love going to Central Park though.

Prospect Park in Brooklyn usually has fireworks. You could see the Battery Park fireworks from the Brooklyn promenade - I am not sure if they will let you on the bridge to see them.

Bettina, what is it that you especially like about the fireworks in Central Park, what is the atmosphere like?

Can you get anything to eat and drink (especially if it%26#39;s cold)?

And if we aren%26#39;t staying nearby what%26#39;s the chance of getting a taxi back to the hotel?
