Romantic Hudson Valley Town - For Anniversary
Hello Luzer,
Hmmm, that name soundz derogatory ! Anyway happy anniversary- I suspect your looking for a special place to spend it. Well If you like small quaint towns then perhaps Rhinebeck ,close to the Hudson River, would be a nice destination, great places to stay %26amp; nice offerings too. The village of Woodstock is cool,%26amp; im sure you%26#39;ve heard of it. also The villiage of Hudson is very nice w/lots of shops %26amp; eateries or right accross the river is the town of Catskill w/ a few B%26amp;B%26#39;s.
If ya need more specific info. feel free to e-mail me @ joelrobin1964@aol.com
good luck, Joel

You may want to consider the Inn at Stone Ridge (www.innatstoneridge.com) off Rt. 209 in Ulster County. It%26#39;s an 18th Cent. stone mansion on over 100 acres. They have an excellent restaurant on premises as well. Rates are quite reasonable, I thought.
thanks
my B%26amp;B gave up my room.
any other suggestions?
i am stuck!
Another possibility would be the Red Hook Inn (www.theredhookinn.com) loc%26#39;d in the town of Red Hook in Dutchess County, and also very close to the charming town of Rhinebeck. But if you%26#39;re planning to go in Oct. it may be hard to find an inn with vacancies since that%26#39;s such a popular time in the Hudson Valley.
thanks
but its booked.
anything else?
Both Ulster County and Dutchess County have a large number of inns and other lodging. (I%26#39;ve read that there are many very small inns in Ulster that don%26#39;t have Websites). Check the following for lodging choices in these 2 counties: www.ulstertourism.info/bb.html and www.dutchesstourism.com/lodging.asp You may need to explore an area a bit farther away, maybe Columbia County, more like 2.5 hrs. from the NYC, in order to secure lodging at this point in time. Try www.staycolumbia.com. The town of Hudson sounds very picturesque! Good luck!!
I would second the recommendation for Rhinebeck.
I went there one month ago. You can see my review for ';The Beekman Arms %26amp; Delamater Inn';. There are enough rooms there that they might be able to accomodate you.
We met my sister from NYC--I know it was only 90 minutes up by
train. From the Delamater, there are at least a half-dozen very good restaurants; a better than average bookstore; and a number of retailers.
What makes it unique is all the old houses that are very well preserved--it%26#39;s a quaint small town.
Hi ! If you haven%26#39;t gone yet, the Village Inn of Rhinebeck in a very nice quiet Inn with a continental breakfast and close to town. You can enjoy all the chipmunks from your window. It is not expensive either, and is clean (and has a refrigerator in each room). We always stay there.
nyack, ny and piermont are great towns off the hudson and close proximity to the city. they are 10-15 min of one another. piermont has lots of art galleries where as nyack is bigger yet just as charming. i am not sure of b and b%26#39;s in the area... check out the chamber of commerce.
inn at blue stores has cancellation for this weekend -- cool craftsman house -- 518-537-4277
