Please recommend an Italian Restaurant in Midtown East area

We%26#39;ll be at 39th %26amp; Lexington/Murray Hill apts. celebrating daughters%26#39; 16th birthday and she wants Italian. Would prefer short walking distance of 1/2 mile or less since this will be after a long day of getting to NYC. There will be 4 of us so mid-price range would be best. Thank you.

How about Carmine%26#39;s on 44th St. off Broadway? We walked there from the Radisson Lexington in August. No problem. They serve family style - one platter feeds 2 or more. Their menu is online. It%26#39;s an experience.

Here%26#39;s a few:

Caffe Linda, 145 E 49th St, Btwn Lexington %26amp; 3rd Ave.

Cibo, 767 2nd Ave, Btwn 41st %26amp; 42nd St.

English Is Italian at 622 3rd Ave at 40th St.

You can check out the menues (and prices though not sure how current they are) on menupages.com.

The two we have been to in this area are-

English is Italian-need to have a big appetite for this and love meat.

L铆mpero,in tudor city between 41 and 43rd off 1st ave.A bit more expensive but fantastic food.Would need to book.

There%26#39;s Campanile on 29Th street between Madison and Park Avenue south. There%26#39;s another on Lexington called Da Ciro. It always get good reviews, but you would have to look it up because I don%26#39;t remember near which street. It is around 28-29th streets.

Nywhiz recommended Cibo%26#39;s and we ate there a couple of weeks ago and loved it. They have a $29.95 prixe fix menu that was great.

I also like La Masseria at 235 W 48th Street.

I think the ones that have been mentioned are very good. L%26#39;Impero is very upscale and it%26#39;s not your basic Italian food. I think a 16 yr. old might be intimidated by a lot of unfamiliar food and it%26#39;s very pricey. But if she%26#39;s somewhat sophisticated, she might like it.

Fagliolini is near your hotel and very good food but not sure it%26#39;s special enough for a birthday celebration.

Trio is near your hotel and they have a live piano player most nights.

A wild card I%26#39;ll offer is Metrazur inside Grand Central station. It%26#39;s not an Italian restaurant per se, but they have some great pasta options. Last time I was there I had a fantastic risotto and my dinner companion had shrimp ravioli. You%26#39;re sitting inside GC and it%26#39;s a dramatic setting.

But one of the best Italian options I think is Vivolo on the upper east side. It%26#39;s a charming restaurant in a townhouse on 74 st. near Lexington. They have a prix fixe early dinner (before 6:30) for $26. You could take a cab with 4. Just a heads up, at the early hour it does get the older crowd, but the food%26#39;s very good and it%26#39;s an unusual setting if you%26#39;re not familiar with NYC.
